Donna Colorio announces her candidacy for Worcester City Council. Here is her statement:

I am excited to announce my candidacy for Worcester City Councilor-at-Large, voting day – November 5, 2019.

The City of Worcester is special to me; as a lifelong resident, I went to school in Worcester and raised my three children here. As a businessperson and 23+ year educator at Quinsigamond Community College, I will continue to be an independent voice asking the tough questions while advocating for the people of Worcester and ensuring solutions are discussed. I have the experience and desire to tackle issues and deliver results that will positively effect our daily lives.

Having served two terms on the Worcester School Committee, I will continue to focus support and resources on the classroom teachers and assistants — our front line. I fought hard to ensure safety in our schools and will continue to prioritize our children’s safety as well as safety throughout the City.

As a member of the Worcester Opiate Task Force, my fight against opiate overdoses will continue. As Worcester City Councilor-at-Large I will thoroughly study, utilize and promote any resources within the City to help fight this deadly killer.
